The origin of this dog does not differ from that of the other GSDs. They originated in the 19th century. There is a distinct variation between this type of the dog and a usual type. This type has retained the best traditional conformation of the breed. These dogs require active exercises every day; it is better if there is a small yard where the dog can walk. As far as the care of the dog is concerned, this is not a problem. During the period of shedding, the dog must be brushed more often.

Standard for this breed is rather strict. These dogs are characterized by a noble and well-chiseled head. The muzzle is long, with an arched forehead. Eyes of these dogs are almond shaped and as dark in color as possible. Ears are pointed and always carried erect. Black color is the only acceptable one for the nose. Teeth are very strong; the scissors bite is preferable. The head should be carried forward and slightly higher than the shoulders. The neck should be long and muscular.
